SPEECHLESS on tour...
Sara leaves it all behind in Rome, and spends her last cent on a flight to Australia to chase her fortune. Toni’s funding is cut and she’s ridiculed by her peers. The unlikely couple come together to provide each other with a saviour… Everything depends on the project SPEECHLESS. Fame, fortune and redemption await them. They don’t speak each other’s language, but who cares – right?
Part theatre, part dance, part comedy… part massive misunderstanding, Speechless is a bi-lingual conversation between two female bodies, whose understanding of the absolute is absolutely undermined by the slipperiness of language. With awkwardness and awkwardness, Speechless will have you giggling as it delights in the moment when it's on the tip of your tongue… when the translation is out of sync… interpretation is misinterpreted. This new devised work draws on the performers personal experiences when words have failed them, or they have failed with words: as an Italian who speaks English as a second language and a Dyslexic struggling in today’s world of information overload.
Speechless, their debut full length work, was performed as part of Melbourne Fringe 2015, Perth Fringe 2016 & Adelaide Fringe 2016.
